Stages
All the stages at Cymbal are incorporated into the architecture of the 180-acre compound. The palace, itself, plays host to one stage ensuring that audiences experiencing Cymbal have room to explore.
From the start of the day to sunset, the former guest house of the royal family will be where audiences can find the Pool Stage of Taj Usha Kiran Palace.
At the magnificent sunsets over the weekend, head over to the rooftop of the Jai Vilas palace to immerse yourself in the events taking place at The Simba Uproar Stage.
And from dusk until dawn, audiences can be expected to be stunned by a 300-year old amphitheatre playing host as a stage.
There will also be production showcases by Franklin De Costa of Berlins Mother’s Finest as well as DJ Bone and India’s very own boxout.fm.
Discover Gwalior
Heritage
You’ll find cut-glass furniture, stuffed tigers and a ladies-only swimming pool with its own boat at the palace. There are swords and shields dating back to the reigns of Mughal Emperors Aurangzeb and Shah Jahan. The museum also hosts a large collection of books, arts and Mughal weaponry. The celebration will also showcase a vibrant mix of performers from the Gwalior Gharana of Tansen.
Entrepreneurs
Cymbal will be inviting entrepreneurs from all over Gwalior to showcase their work at the festival. Expect to interact with people from farming, hospitality, wellness, catering, decor, logistics and more. Each one of these entrepreneurs will be offering their work to display why Gwalior hosts some of the more unique artisans in the country.
Air India Terminal
The Air India Terminal at Cymbal will be located at the heart of the festival, The Haathikhana. A cultural stage, the terminal will be showcasing Madhya Pradesh-focused cultural acts, some of whom are descendants of Tansen. Expect to see dancers, artists, and more displaying their work.
The Haathikhana Experience
The former house of elephants is the heart of the festival. Where once the elephants which belonged to the royal family lived, it is now where the heart of Cymbal lies. A plethora of shops and workshops will dot this arena whether it’s food outlets, the bar, retail stores, wellness huts, this former elephant home is situated at the most convenient location for Cymbal’s audience. It’s a perfect place for those looking to take a break from dancing and the best place to meet if you ever find yourself losing your crew & soak in some cultural performances from the descendants of Tansen.
